1944 – 2012

BUXTON — Allan D. “Doug” Jordan, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 11. After a long illness, he died peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 6, 1944, in Norway, a son of the late Frank Cole Jordan and Clementine Crooker Morgan Jordan. After attending Portland schools, he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from April 1965 through March 1971.

Doug worked throughout his life as a heavy truck mechanic for Cook Concrete and Dragon Products, retiring in 2009. He will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, talking with friends and family members, and attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, whom he wed on Nov. 17, 1967, Sarah (Gregoire) Jordan; children, Mary Ellen Lambert and her husband, Roger, of Portland, Cheryl Harmon and her husband, Michael, of Hollis, and Susan Jordan of Hollis; grandchildren, Adam Harmon of New York and Lily Harmon of Hollis; sister, Linda LaBerge of Arkansas; brothers, Rodney Jordan and his wife, Carol, of Bethel, Wayne Jordan and his wife, Bonnie, of Rhode Island, Stuart Jordan and his wife, Maurine, of Westbrook, and Timothy Jordan and his wife, Pamela, of Connecticut; brothers-in-law, Charles Redstone, Carl Gregoire, Jonathan Erskine and his wife, Cheryl, and Paul Erskine and his wife, Catherine; sisters-in-law, Marlene McDonald, Mary Ann Foster and her husband, Alan, and Ellen Byrnes and her husband, Darrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

He was predeceased by his brother, David; and sisters, Beverly and Nancy.
