Freedom and close-mindedness do not go together.

I heard a lady say she hates Mitt Romney and doesn’t trust him. I asked her if she watched the conventions (I watched both). Her answer was “No, no. I can’t stand him.”

How can she, and others who think the same, assess what Gov. Romney stands for?

Romney respects all who take pride in earning their own way — from all walks of life. He is, however, concerned with the “takers.” Admit it, we all know some who feel entitled to all the “freebies” they can get from the government.

People need to wake up and listen; use some common sense. If the government gives, it expects something in return. Total obedience, perhaps. What happens to freedom then? Is socialism in the future?

Someone once said, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.” That is the danger.

How sad.
