Folk singer Ian Fitzgerald, who since early 2011 has performed in eight states and in Nova Scotia, will appear at She Doesn’t Like Guthries at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Fitzgerald has played in the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase and at other festivals including the Club Passim’s Cutting Edge of the Campfire Festival and the New England Americana Festival. In 2009, his song “Lillian” won the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest and earned Fitzgerald a performance spot at the festival. Harmony vocalist Courtney Gallagher teamed up with Fitzgerald in April, playing coffeehouses, clubs and concert halls, both as openers and as headliners. They will be heard together on Fitzgerald’s new record, due later this year. Guthries is at 115 Middle St., Lewiston. No cover charge.
