LIVERMORE — The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 290 Norlands Road, will host a thrilling journey into the haunted past of the greater Livermore area. Walk the “Trail of Norlands’ Past” from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 26 and 27, after hearing about the “strange happenings” of Livermore by lamplight in the historic Washburn family kitchen. Join in haunting activities in the library and one-room schoolhouse. Enjoy a cup of cider and a doughnut, made fresh on the woodstove, in the Farmer’s Cottage.
Saturday’s events will run from 2 to 9 p.m. From 2 to 5, join in a scavenger hunt on the “Trail of Norlands’ Past” by following clues and participating in a variety of haunting activities in the farmer’s cottage, library, one-room schoolhouse and the Washburn family kitchen. Hear stories, create your own story and make a paper lantern to take home. Solve the clues and win a small prize.
Plan to stay for supper on Saturday night. Soup and cornbread will be served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., for $2. Then, take the trail again in the darkness of night.
Fun for all ages. Be ready to laugh and to be thrilled.
Upon arrival, purchase tickets in the meeting house (church) near the parking lot. Call 897-4366 or visit www.norlands.org for updates.
The cost is $8 per person; $6 children under 12; $25 family rate for a family of five (two adults with two or three children). Tickets purchased Friday night grant admission to daytime activities on Saturday.
