I served with Rep. Peggy Rotundo on the Appropriations Committee when I served in the Maine Legislature.

I want to highlight what Rotundo has done for Lewiston as chairwoman of that powerful committee.

Rep. Rotundo secured funding for the Franco-American Heritage Center, support for the public library and Museum L-A. She made sure that Lewiston got its fair share of funding for roads and rail. She fought for property tax relief for Lewiston which would have otherwise gone to cities such as Portland. She secured funding for the L-A College addition, CMCC and adult education. She saved hundreds of jobs by fighting for fair reimbursement rates to our hospitals.

She has looked out for the most vulnerable by supporting the Drugs for the Elderly, housing for those with Alzheimer’s, and services for people with disabilities.

Rep. Peggy Rotundo has accomplished much for Lewiston and is still needed in Augusta.
