1933 – 2012

AUBURN — Lois S. Wallingford Woodward, 78, of Minot, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 16, 1933, daughter of the late Clayton and Rose Foss Sturtevant.

She was educated in Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1952. She was married to Eugene O. Wallingford on Nov. 1, 1952; and he predeceased her on July 2, 1988. She later married Howard L. Woodward, who predeceased her in 2009.

She and her husband, along with their son, owned and operated Wallingford Fruit House on Perkins Ridge Road in Auburn. Lois was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Oxford and Pine Cone Chapter No. 26 Order of the Eastern Star, where she also served as past worthy matron and was one the founders of the Perkins Ridge Snowtravelers.

She is survived by three daughters, Roxanne White and husband, Richard, Pamela L. Sturtevant and JoAnn Montana and husband, Michael; two sons, Gerald S. Sturtevant and wife, Jen, and William C. Wallingford and wife, Jeanne; also many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Sturtevant; and a daughter-in-law, Denise Wallingford.

She was predeceased by her two husbands; a daughter, Lynn Cottle; a son, Peter Wallingford; and a brother, Gerald Sturtevant.
