BETHEL — Telstar High School is the venue for The Community & Business Expo and Taste of Bethel & Beyond events Saturday, Oct. 27.
New this year are free Job Seekers and Entrepreneurship workshops offering an array of essential tools and information for people interested in starting a business or finding employment, Robin Zinchuk, executive director of the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce, said Tuesday in a news report.
The Expo and workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food from area restaurants at Taste of Bethel & Beyond will be served from noon to 2 p.m.
“Come for the delicious array of food offered by local restaurants, as well as an opportunity to visit with dozens of regional businesses and organizations,” Zinchuk said. “Come and learn about their latest products and services and to do some early holiday shopping!”
The Maine CareerCenter will offer two one-hour workshops on “cutting-edge tips on resumes and interviewing techniques to get that job you’d like,” she said.
The Maine Small Business Development Center will offer four one-hour workshops from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. titled: Starting a Business in Maine; Developing Your Business Plan; Understanding and Predicting Cash Flow; and Financing Your Business.
Zinchuk urged people to come for the raffle giveaways that include a cord of wood from Cross Excavation and a pair of winter boots compliments of True North Adventureware.
The first 200 to come through the door will receive a free gift, compliments of the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce.
Norway Savings Bank is presenting the event, which is sponsored in part by Sun Media Group, Northeast Bank, United Insurance, Turner Publishing, W.J. Wheeler Insurance, WOXO Country, KeyBank, Edward Jones and Hebron Academy.
