Maine will be wasting a valuable U. S. Senate seat if Angus King wins. Leadership will consign him to the wilderness and Maine will suffer. Additionally, he is a supreme “crony capitalist,” prospering on the back of taxpayers.
He hypocritically supported the 754,000-acre conservation easement in the North Woods, stating “because these lands are home to countless wildlife species and provide a kind of spiritual home — this is the Maine heritage.” Thirteen years later, Record Hill Wind ruined Roxbury’s pristine ridges.
His company received $102 million in loan guarantees after Rep. Chellie Pingree interceded on his behalf, but after receiving $402,000 in success fees, he cashed out.
King does not represent Maine values of honesty and integrity. His business and political careers are greased with tax and rate-payer subsidies.
Voters should all use his words and “disenthrall ourselves” of Angus King on Nov. 6 by voting for the choice of Republican or Democrat.
