Creating more jobs and helping Maine businesses? Time to look at candidates who not only have lots of experience working jobs themselves, but running businesses themselves.
Colleen Quint, in her race for the Maine Legislature, wins that contest hands down.
She has years of experience running a business, including making decisions about salaries and benefits, figuring out how to provide health insurance coverage to employees, setting and sticking to a budget, contracting with vendors, managing marketing, reviewing and purchasing insurance, ensuring regulatory compliance and taking care of various required filings.
She also spent time on the budget committee in Minot, giving her an understanding of government business management as well.
And she knows what it is like to just have a job and support a family.
Common sense, middle of the road, get the job done are her mark.
