BRUNSWICK — Raymond L. Bailey Jr., 86, of Harpswell, died Monday, Oct. 22, at Mid Coast Hospital.

Raymond was born in Portland, Aug. 23, 1926, a son of Raymond L. and Erma Latham Bailey Sr. He attended local schools and graduated from Brunswick High School. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

For many years, Raymond worked at Pejepscot Paper, from where he retired. He was a member of the Topsham Memorial American Legion Post No. 202. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and figure skating, as well as flower gardening and bird watching.

Surviving are his three sons, Clifford Bailey and his wife, Kristina, of Harpswell, Donald Bailey and his wife, Mary Anne, of Chesterfield, Mich., and Stuart Bailey of Lewiston; two half-brothers, Carleton Ramsay and wife, Janice, of Gorham and Donald Ramsay and wife, Pauline, of Vallejo, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Prindall Bailey, Feb. 4, 2002; a son, Kevin Bailey in 2010; a brother, Robert Bailey; a sister, Anna Bailey; half-brothers, William Bailey and Robert, Richard and Clayton Ramsay; and half-sisters, Margaret Bailey, Barbara Bailey, V. Patricia Chick and Rita Lebel.
