FARMINGTON — Elmon J. Dyar, 74, of Farmington passed away at his home on Thursday, Oct. 25.

He was born in Farmington, March 24, 1938, the son of Norman C. and Florence M. (Ladd) Dyar. He was a graduate of Farmington High School. Elmon worked as an edger at Bass Shoe as a young man. He then went to work as a truck driver for many years hauling everything from logs to propane.

Elmon loved hunting, fishing, and tinkering. He was the district deputy for the International Order of Odd Fellows, and sitting master of Vernon Valley Masonic Lodge 99.

Elmon is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennie; two sons, Joseph Dyar of Farmington and Elmon Dyar Jr. of Jay; five grandchildren, Pauline, Elmon III, Nicholas, Jamie and Jessica; his brother, Clyde E. Dyar of Mount Vernon; brother and sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Johnny Dyar.
