Patricia Probert Gott of South Paris recently released her 13th book “Horse Tails by Horses in Harness.”
In this fun and informative children’s book, recommended for 11-year-olds and under, a young colt named Clyde separates from his mother who had told him he’d be a working harness horse some day.
Wondering what kind of horse he is and what he will do when he grows up, he interviews 13 breeds of horses of all sizes, shapes and colors from minis to standardbreds to Clydesdales.
The book’s colorful illustrations were done by artist and singer-songwriter Jewel L. Clark of Bethel.
The cover depicts two Haflinger horses, Buddy and Nick, owned by Lance Bean of Woodstock.
Gott began riding at age 8 and has owned, raised and trained horses ever since, accounting for her knowledge and experience with horses as detailed in her previous “Cowgirl” book series and four children’s horse stories.
She was also a horse wrangler for four summers in Wyoming and owns two Arabians, which she uses for trail riding several times a week.
Gott’s books may be purchased at www.prgottbooks.net; Books N Things in Norway or Smedburg’s Farm Stand in Oxford; Amazon.com.; and Barnes & Noble. Her last five books are also available as e-books from Kindle or Nook.
