JAY — A Farmington man was injured Tuesday afternoon when his car rear-ended a sport utility vehicle that had stopped for a school bus on Route 133.

Ali Clark, 29, of Jay, had stopped her 2012 Honda SUV in the southbound lane for a northbound school bus with its flashing yellow lights on near the former Belanger’s automotive business, Jay Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier said. When the school bus driver waved her on and she proceeded, a 2006 Nissan car driven south by Thomas Poulin, 46, of Farmington hit the rear of the SUV, Fournier said.

Poulin received minor injuries and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to be checked out, he said.

Clark and a passenger, Diana Waleik, 58, of Jay were not injured, he said.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene. The school bus was not involved in the 2:35 p.m. accident, he said.

Jay firefighters assisted at the scene.
