LIVERMORE FALLS — A 19-year-old driver was injured Tuesday afternoon when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer on Campground Road.

The 1993 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Samuel T. Flagg of Livermore Falls rolled over, hit a tree about 6 feet in the air and landed on its roof, Livermore Falls Lt. Thomas Gould said.

People in the area helped him get out of the car, Gould said. Flagg complained of neck pain and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance.

Gould was assisted at the scene by police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. and Livermore Falls firefighters.

The Alero was heavily damaged and was towed from the scene.
