Celebration of Veterans Dance

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Elks Lodge will presents the Celebration of Veterans Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 10, with music by Temple Rocks.

Cost is $10 per person, veterans free. Tickets available at Madore’s Market or at the Elks Lodge Lounge, downstairs.

Walking tour of farm fields

JAY — The Addin’ Rings Tree Farm will offer a walking tour of the fields and forest stands from the past 50 years at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, between North Jay and East Dixfield on the Oxford/Franklin County line.

Coffee and doughnuts will be available at 8:30 a.m.

Sky Program moved to Nov. 19

RANGELEY — The Wilhelm Reich Museum will host another Sky Program at dusk Thursday, Nov. 19, at its Conference Center on Dodge Pond Road. This program usually takes place on the second Monday of the month; however, the program has been rescheduled due to the weather forecast.

Participants will view planets, stars and the moon using telescopes and binoculars as well as picking out constellations with the naked eye. Bring binoculars, lawn chairs or a blanket. The program will be held only if the sky is clear.

The Sky Program has been created for all ages as part of the museum’s Natural Science Program and is free of charge. For more information call 864-3443.

Arts and Crafts Assoc. meeting

FARMINGTON — The third and final fall meeting of the Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the University of Maine at Farmington Student Center North Dining Hall.

Registration for the 41st annual Christmas craft show will be provided from 6:30 to 7 p.m., with a business session to follow.

Flu shot clinics announced

FARMINGTON — Flu shots from Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County staff will be administered at the following locations:

Tuesday, Nov. 13: Otis Federal Credit Union, Jay, 10 a.m. to noon.

Monday, Nov. 19: Eustis Town Hall, 9:30 to 11 a.m.; Carrabassett Valley Town Office, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Due to the cost of the vaccine, there is a suggested donation of $20, (or by donating what you can afford). Insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cannot be accepted. The HCC purchases all vaccine used and appreciates donations to help cover costs.

Flu shots will be provided to individuals 18 and older. Those who are under the age of 18 are recommended to contact their primary care medical provider.

Fish chowder luncheon

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Union Church, on Route 4 North, will hold a fish chowder luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. The luncheon includes chowder, biscuit, pickles, cheese, dessert and coffee/tea beverage.

Thanksgiving pie sale is Nov. 16

WILTON — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is accepting preorders for its annual ECW Thanksgiving Pie Sale fundraiser.

Preorders are required to reserve the homemade pies. Call the church office at 645-2639, Jeannine LeVigne at 645-2304, or email stlukes@myfairpoint.net with an order no later than Friday, Nov. 16. Traditional pies of apple, pumpkin and pecan are available for $9 to $10 each and specialty types are available upon request for a bit more.

Orders may be picked up at St. Luke’s, 59 High St., on Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon; orders of five or more pies will be delivered.
