STANDISH — The Schoolhouse Art Center will present the beloved Christmas classic “Miracle on 34th Street,” opening on Friday, Nov. 30, and running through Dec. 16. 

“This is one of our favorite Christmas plays,” said Terri Plummer, general manager of Schoolhouse. “Families love it and we always draw big crowds. And, (director) Mike Hjort has added a few unique changes that will add some surprises to this traditional family favorite.”

Hjort, who has directed and acted for about 15 years, directed “Miracle on 34th Street” atSchoolhouse in 2002.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Saturday and Sunday shows will be preceded by a holiday prelude featuring the musical talents of cast members.
