AUBURN — Central Maine Community College trailed 15-2 six minutes into the game Sunday before rallying for a 93-80 men’s basketball win over Paul Smith College.

CMCC roared back and took a 38-34 lead into the locker room at halftime.

This was the third game in as many days for the home team and it showed in the early going. It took some excellent bench play to inject some much needed energy into the line-up.

Utilizing 12 players with constant full court pressure and continuous rotations proved effective to wear down Paul Smith’s stellar guards Devon Carr and Shiva Senthil.

Justin Cocroft got CM moving with four first-half 3-oointers and finished the contest with 22 points. Edward Little graduate Brandon Giguere shot 5-for-8 from the floor to knock down 13 points. Samson Olayemi added 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Mustangs go into the Thanksgiving break with a 7-3 record and a 4-0 Yankee Conference record.
