FARMINGTON — Police say a pregnant woman involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Wilton Road Tuesday was taken to the hospital.

Amanda Comeau, 29, of Jay driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling east on Routes 2 and 4 at about 2 p.m. She had stopped to make a left-hand turn into the Fabric Inn-Northland Flooring parking lot.

A 1997 Ford pickup driven by Cora Purington, 25, Livermore Falls, which was traveling behind Comeau, struck the Pontiac and went off the road onto the shoulder in front of Cushing Motor Sports, Farmington officer Ryan Rosie said.

Purington was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance to be checked out, Rosie said. She is pregnant and her stomach hit the steering wheel. The airbag did not inflate, he said.

Comeau was not injured. Both drivers were alone at the time.

Comeau’s vehicle was hauled from the scene by Hilltop Collision and Purington’s by Farmington Towing.

Farmington Fire and Rescue assisted with traffic control at the scene.
