FARMINGTON — The Farmington Rotary Club hosts its annual Festival of Trees on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington.
A free public viewing of the decorated trees, wreaths and kissing balls will take place from noon until 5 p.m. Participants can bid on silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets.
Among the auction items is a Mitchell Chair, donated by W.A. Mitchell Fine Furniture.
Entertainment begins at 1 p.m. and continues throughout the afternoon featuring Mt. Blue High School musical groups: the Jazz Band, Mt. Blue Voices, the Chamber Singers, and the Franklin County Fiddlers. There will also be fun activities for children and hot chocolate available.
Happy hour begins at 5 p.m. preceding the auction of the decorated trees at 6 p.m.
Following the auction a buffet provided by UMF for $30 a person will feature piano music by Joshua Hiltz. For advance dinner tickets contact Tom Sawyer at Franklin Savings Bank at 778-2900.
Monies received from this event help the Farmington Rotary support local and worldwide needs of children and families.
For more information, contact Carolyn Eaton at 778-2584.
The Farmington Rotary Club is an active breakfast club with more than 60 members. Rotary meets every Thursday at 7 a.m. for fellowship and community service at the North Dining Hall on the UMF campus.
