Coach: Travis Magnusson (second year)

Last year’s record: 22-1, Class C champions

Returning players: Seniors — T.J. Frost (5-10 guard), Hunter Ross (5-7 guard), Robbie Babb (6-2 forward), Chad Snowman (5-10 guard); Junior — Dylan Kidder (5-11 forward); Sophomores — Kaine Hutchins (6-1 forward), Tyler Frost (5-9 guard).

Key losses: Caleb Turner (5-11 guard), Josh Turbide (5-10 guard), Cody St. Germain (6-4 forward), Ben Holmes (6-2 forward), Mitch Stanley (6-5 forward).

Promising newcomers: Junior — Isiah Brown (6-2 forward); Sophomore — Nick St. Germain (6-3 forward); Freshmen — Clay Swett (6-2 forward), Riley Robinson (6-0 guard), Gavin Arsenault (5-11 guard).

Outlook: The concept of success breeding success seems to apply to Dirigo, which lost four of its starting five from the Class C champions but remains a force in the MVC and the state. The Frost brothers and Babb should supply plenty of offense. Ross is a superb defender. Dirigo’s reinforcements saw plenty of varsity playing time in a slew of one-sided games last season, and the Cougars had the top JV team in the league. It all adds up to a likely run at a fifth consecutive regional title.

Coach’s comment: “We are a young team that will have to find our identity.  We will be able to compete with any team in the conference, but there are
going to be a lot of close games in the MVC.” — Coach Travis Magnusson
