When the women of National Association of Insurance Women Androscoggin Valley learned that the Hope Haven Soup Kitchen in Lewiston had opened its doors after being closed for renovations for six months, they decided to help. On Nov. 10, Patti Gagne, Julie Gile and Karen Knights helped serve 37 warm breakfasts cooked by kitchen manager Les Abel. On Nov. 11, Ann Croker, Jody Goding and Karen Knights helped serve 24 eggplant Parmesan dinners, also cooked by Les Abel, to members of the community. The mission of Hope Haven Gospel Mission is to serve God and the homeless while providing meals, hope and recovery 365 days a year. Hope Haven will gladly take any donations of food, hygiene products, children’s clothes or paper products. For more information visit www.hopehavengospelmission.org.
