AUBURN — Edward Little exploded out to a 29-6 first quarter advantage and never looked back as they crushed Mt. Ararat 81-52 in boys KVAC basketball.
Senior forward Sean Ford led all scorers with 18 points. Llewellyn Jenson followed with 15 points, including a trio of three pointers.
Nate Alexander and Ian Mikeikis each contributed with nine points. Shy Ulrickson and Mason Griffen paced Mt. Ararat with 15 points apiece.
Yarmouth 70,
Gray-NG 46
YARMOUTH — David Murphy piled up a game-high 26 points as Yarmouth rolled over Gray-New Gloucester, 70-46, in a boys’ basketball opener Friday night.
For the Clippers, it was smooth sailing by halftime after they built a 40-18 lead. Murphy hit three 3-pointes and teammate Jordan Brown scored 10.
For the Patriots, Andreas Kariotis punched up the team-high 20 points.
Leavitt 38, Lincoln 31
TURNER — Andrew Middleton scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds as Leavitt shook off Lincoln Academy, 38-31, in boys’ basketball opener Friday night.
Zac Goulette contributed 13 points and was credited with five assists for the Hornets. For Lincoln, Caleb Farrin scored the team-high 10 points.
Wiscasset 53,
Telstar 35
BETHEL — Travis Padilla notched a team-high 13 points to pace Wiscasset to a 53-35 victory over Telstar in MVC boys’ basketball action.
Chandler Longfellow contributed 11 points for Wiscasset. Senior forward Nick Mills tabulated a game-high 15 points for the Rebels.
Dirigo 79, Oak Hill 50
DIXFIELD — Freshman forward Riley Robinson scored a game-high 21 points in his first varsity appearance as Dirigo cruised to a 79-50 victory over Oak Hill.
Senior point guard Travis Frost posted 19 points with seven assists and eight steals. Parker Asselin scored 12 points to lead the Raiders.
Lisbon 40,
Mt. Abram 37
LISBON — Mt. Abram made a late fourth quarter rush but Lisbon was too strong as it held off the Roadrunners for a 40-37 triumph. Mason Haley and Bradley Groh led the Greyhounds with 11 and 10 points respectively. Calum Dixon scored 18 points for Mt. Abram.
Lake Region 53, Poland 48
POLAND — Lake Region’s Sam Smith dumped in a game high 18 points as they held off a late Poland rally for a 53-48 victory.
Ben Chaine added13 points for the Lakers. Allan Young scored 18 points while Tyler Michaud added nine for the Knights.
Mountain Valley 50, Winthrop 43
WINTHROP — Ryan Nicols scored a team-high 14 points to lead Mountain Valley to a 50-43 victory over Winthrop
Jake Theriault chipped in with 10 points for the Falcons.Talor Morang notched a game-high 15 pionts for the Ramblers.
Skowhegan 36,
Mt. Blue 35
SKOWHEGAN — Taylor Bacon paced Skowhegan with 11 points while Eli Hollan added 10 as Skowhegan edged Mt. Blue, 36-35. Kindle Bonsall led all scorers with 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Cougars.
