NATICK, Mass. — Paul W. Hiscock, 96, of Natick, Mass., passed away Thursday, Oct. 25.
He was the son of the late Lottie Ranger and Asa Hiscock of South Livermore and husband of the late Dorothy G. Hiscock. Paul left South Livermore at a young age, working at Weston Nurseries for 16 years, then worked at the Rivers School in Weston, Mass., for 45 years, until he retired. The Rivers School recognized Paul’s long service with the Berger-Decker Award in 2002, citing his leadership, compassion and selfless spirit in helping make the school a better place.
He had an incredible work ethic and took great pride in the grounds at both his home and Rivers. Paul was one of 14 siblings and is survived by his sisters, Ruth and Betty of Lewiston, Alta of Auburn and Anna and Mary of Livermore; children, David of Vermont and Leslie, Gregory and Jill, of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Paul was a man of faith and always had his Bible nearby to witness to all. He attended Wellesley Park Assembly of God in Wayland. One of Paul’s favorite scriptures was Psalm 121. Paul wrote a psalm God gave him and one verse was:
He’s the one I pray to each day
He’s my heavenly Father and He shows me the way
He’s the one that went to the old rugged cross
There He bled and died and he paid the cost
When this life is over and I’ve gone home
I know my heavenly Father will welcome me
I know my heavenly Father will welcome me
Then a million years will come
And a million years will go
My heavenly Father will be with me
Wherever I go. Waiting for you to come!
