SARASOTA, Fla. — Pauline P. Flagg, 85, a resident of Jay, and Venice, Fla., died Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Tidewell Hospice House.

She was born April 7, 1927, in Jay, one of 11 children of Stanislaus and Eugenie “Jennie” (Ouellette) Doiron. Pauline was a graduate of Jay High School.

On Oct. 21, 1946, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 57 years, Laurence Flagg. He passed away Jan. 28, 2004.

She worked as a clerk for 37 years at the Jay Post Office. Pauline was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. Pauline volunteered thousands of hours with her husband, Larry, at the Togus Chapter of DAV, including time as the commander of the DAV Auxiliary Togus Chapter.

Pauline took many evening classes at UMF, working toward a degree, but was cut short when Larry became ill. She enjoyed knitting, needle point, word puzzles, the Boston Celtics and time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Yahn and her husband, James, of Phillips; two grandchildren, Rachel Nichols and Travis Wells; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Armand “Mike” Doiron and Richard “Dick” Doiron and wife, Phyllis, of Jay and retired Col. Nicholas Doiron and Joyce, of Sacramento, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Herring; and brothers, Ludger, Camillio, Vincent, Reginald, Rene and Norman Doiron.
