AVON — John R. Darveau, 61, of Avon, formerly of Augusta, died late Saturday, Dec. 8, at his home in Avon, with his wife by his side.
He was born June 10, 1951, in Gardiner, a son of Robert and Annabelle (Russell) Darveau Sr. He attended Augusta schools, graduating from Cony High School.
John worked in the mental health field for 20 years and was a great asset to those in need.
He enjoyed fishing, carpentry and attended the North Monmouth Community Church.
John is survived by his mother, Annabelle; his wife, Clista (Whitney), whom he married Dec. 31, 1998, in Bowdoinham; his children, David, Shain, Melinda, Melissa, Melanie, Bekah, Christopher and Christen; a brother, Robert Darveau Jr.; and 19 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Darveau Sr.
