Holiday prints by local artist Dan Cake are on display in L/A Arts’ Art and Ale gallery window at Gritty McDuff’s Brew Pub in downtown Auburn. Cake has been doing Santa-themed art for a number of years, just for the fun of it. “Art does not always have to be serious,” he said. Cake attended the Portland School of Art and then worked in graphics while serving in the Navy. “I made a living as a graphic artist for my entire life but continued with fine art, experimenting in different methods, mediums and ideas,” he said. “Today, realism seems to have a hold on me and gives me the challenge I need.”
