Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on Dec. 11 at the Lewiston Armory were as follows: first, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; fifth, Paul Sherman and Mike True; first in B & C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second in B, Nancy Farmer and Hazel Glazier; second in C, Claire Lyons and Priscilla Rooth.

The quarterly club championship will be played on Monday, Dec. 17, and the annual Christmas party and club championship will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Seniors’ bingo rescheduled

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens’ bingo scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Lewiston Armory has been cancelled. The next game will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 12:30 p.m.

Workshop on emotional health

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering a free workshop for anyone interested in learning more about emotional health. Positive Psychology: Fostering Strength and Emotional Health will take place Thursday, Jan. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell St.

Join speaker and author Janet Edmunson as she explores research in positive psychology that demonstrates we can adopt a thinking style that fosters strength, creativity and resilience.

Challenging life experiences can drain us of the emotional health we need day-to-day. Edmunson uses science, personal stories of caring for her husband during his terminal illness and hands-on workshop activities to explore positive ways to get through challenging life events.
