In the primary school at West Auburn Christmas exercises were held yesterday afternoon, and many visitors came to hear the children and see their joy over the exercises, the Christmas tree and the gifts. Addition of two production lines on the first and second shifts will allow a group of women, all with three or more years of experience, to go back to work Monday. They were laid off a few weeks ago.

The collapse of a parents’ fundraising group has left members of a local boosters’ club scrambling to raise money to buy jackets for members of Lewiston High School’s championship football team. The Blue Devils Sports Family, which has provided money for championship jackets in past years, was disbanded this summer. More than $4,000 remaining from past fundraisers was placed into escrow, with the proviso that it be used for scholarships. “The jackets will be received one way or another,” said Skip Capone, coach of the football team.
