LISBON —   Senior forward Jess Conant drained a team-high 14 points as Dirigo coasted to a 58-39 victory over Lisbon in MVC girls’ basketbal action Saturday.
Ambyr Wilson and Kayla Gaudin contributed 12 points each as the Cougars (2-2) put forth a balanced attack.
The Greyhounds (2-1) trailed by only two at the half, but became plagued with turnovers and poor shooting from the line down the stretch.
Senior forward Denise Thomas recorded a game-high 15 points on six field goals and three free throws for Lisbon.
Spruce Mountain 41, Boothbay 37
JAY —   Emily Keene collected a team-high 16 points to lead Spruce Mountain to a 41-37 victory over Boothbay in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Phoenix (4-0) jumped out to a 26-18 halftime lead, and glided to a four-point margin at the final buzzer.
Nicole Hamblin contributed 10 points for Spruce Mountain. Sarah Caron led the Seahawks (2-2) with five field goals, including a pair from three-point range, for 12 points. And, Morgan Crocker chipped in with 11 points for Boothbay.
Madison 42,
Oak Hill 39
WALES —   Sam Bruce scored a team-high 17 points to lead Madison to a 42-39 victory over Oak Hill in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Bulldogs recovered from a one-point deficit at the half to outscore the Raiders for the eventual win in the second stanza.
Hayley Marshall drained seven field goals and three free throws to lead Oak Hill with 17 points in the losing effort.
Monmouth 69,
Telstar 23
BETHEL —   Kylie Kemp tossed a game-high 17 points to power Monmouth to a 69-23 victory over Telstar in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
Danielle Bumann contributed to the Mustang (3-1) offense with 16 points on eight field goals.The Rebels (0-4) were led by Rebecca Howard, who had four field goals and a free throw for nine points.
Greenville 31, Buckfield 17
GREENVILLE —   Michella Gilbert packaged 22 points as Greenville sailed to a 31-17 victory over Buckfield in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Lakers (1-2) posted double-digit scoring in the middle two quarters to add some distance between themselves and their opponents. Naudia Wesley led the scoring for the Bucks (1-3) with eight points.
Gray-NG 45,
Cape Elizabeth 42
CAPE ELIZABETH —   Sophomore forward Maria Valente executed a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Gray-New Gloucester edged Cape Elizabeth 45-42 in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
Junior guard Anna Goldstein paced the Capers (1-2) with 11 points on four field goals, three from three-point range. Valente hit two key free throws with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to break a 42-42 deadlock for the Patriots (3-0) in the winning effort.
Girls’ hockey
Lewiston 4, Winslow 1
LEWISTON —   Sophomore center Erica Lemieux netted a pair of goals as Lewiston skated to a 4-1 victory over Winslow in girls’ hockey action Saturday.
The Black Raiders scored first with a goal in the first period. But, the Blue Devil  defensive team of Mikaela Brown and Erin Hubbard prevented any subsequent goals.
Lewiston scored three goals in the third period to ice the 4-1 outcome. Goalie Brianna Lajoie earned the win for Lewiston (4-2).
Boys’ basketball
POLAND —   Sophomore forward Jack Simonds recorded a game-high 13 points as Falmouth cruised to a 68-35 victory over Poland in WMC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Yachtsmen (4-0) came out strong in the first half with senior center Charlie Fay tabulating eight of his 12 points in the second quarter.
Sophomore guard C.J. Martin led the Knights (0-4) with five field goals, including a three-pointer, and a free throw for 12 points in the losing effort.
Madison 61,
Mtn. Valley 54
MADISON —   Senior guard Dylan Price recorded an impressive 24 points with eight rebounds and four assists to lead Madison to a 61-54 victory over Mtn. Valley in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Bulldogs (1-3) took a 26-20 hafltime lead. Dustin West contributed 10 points on a field goal and eight free throws for Madison.
Senior guard Ryan Nichols led the Falcons (2-2) with five field goals, including a three-pointer.
Greenville 71, Buckfield 45
GREENVILLE —   Greenville roared out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter and pulled away for a 71-45 victory over Buckfield.
Howard Stone led all scorers with 20 points for Greenville (3-0), while Henry Hersey added 17 points and Matt DiAngelo 16 points. Jared Eastman led Buckfield (1-3) with 16 points and Micah Madore chipped in with 10 points.
Dirigo 75, Carrabec 43
DIXFIELD —  Travis Frost tallied a triple-double and Dirigo dominated the first and fourth quarters to secure a 75-43 win over Dirigo in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
Frost filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, 12 assists and 11 steals for the Cougars (4-0). Riley Robinson scored a game-high 23 points for Dirigo, followed closely by Robbie Babb with 22 points.
The Cougars led 15-2 after the first quarter, then put the game away with a 23-9 fourth quarter.
Troy Dunphy led the Cobras (0-4) with 21 points.
Boys’ hockey
Lewiston 2,
Biddeford 0
LEWISTON —   Matt Poulin scored a goal and an assist to aid Lewiston in a 2-0 shutout victory over Biddeford in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday evening.
Patrick DeBlois put the Blue Devils (2-1) on the board first with a tally in the second period.
Goalie Jon Fields provided keeper duties for the Tigers, while goalie Evan Bourassa picked up the shutout in net for Lewiston.
