FARMINGTON — Angela Ferrari, a studio artist based out of Portland, has donated six acrylic-on-canvas portraits of dogs to the Franklin County Animal Shelter to help them in their fundraising efforts.
Ferrari grew up in Farmington, graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 2004 and the University of Maine, Orono in 2008 with a degree focus in studio art.
Having grown up in Farmington she said she wanted to help out her hometown’s animal shelter and find a good home for her artwork. Ferrari combines a love for the mosaic with a strong attraction to vivid and eccentric colors. In most of her pieces you will find an image created with neon, metallic, glossy and matte finished paints combined with found objects.
Ferrari credits her large family as her most significant influence.
Ferrari’s work is on display and available for sale at SugarWood Gallery, 248 Broadway. The pieces can be viewed during store hours Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
