AUBURN — Taylor Landry was on all night, scoring seven goals and collecting an assist, as undefeated Leavitt/EL rolled to a 9-0 victory over Yarmouth in a girls’ hockey game Wednesday night.
Landry reeled off all three consecutive goals in the first period and added three more in the second, with Shaylin Collins picking up a pair of assists. Sydney Nadeau scored in the second period to briefly interrupt Landry’s scoring streak.
In the third period, Amanda Grenier scored first on a Landry assist and then Landry topped off the victory with her seventh goal.
Red Hornets goalie Tori Sanford earned her first shutout of the season and stopped 16 shots.
Lewiston 7, Mt. Ararat 0
BRUNSWICK — Lewiston pelted Mt. Ararat with four goals in the first period in a 7-0 victory in girls’ hockey action Wednesday night.
Natalie “Cookie” Rousseau led the early barrage with two goals in the opening period and later added two assists.
Erica Lemieux and Corinne Laberge each added a goal and two assists for the Blue Devils.
Brianna Lajoie made eight saves in net to record the shutout. Alison Nolan stopped 21 shots for Mt. Ararat.
Girls’ basketball
Poland 58, Fryeburg 44
POLAND — Emily Bolduc and Brittina Maheux combined for five 3-pointers as Poland dominated the first half and cruised to a 58-44 victory over Fryeburg Academy in Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball action Wednesday night.
Michaella Aresnault scored eight of her 14 points in the third quarter to help Poland (3-2) extend its lead. Bolduc finished with a game-high 18 points while Maheux added 13 points. Skye Dole had 16 points and Julia Quinn 12 to lead the Raiders (0-4).
Boys’ hockey
Edward Little 1, Yarmouth 1
AUBURN — Edward Little and Yarmouth each scored in the second period and ended up in a standoff from there, battling to a 1-1 tie in boys’ hockey action.
Kevin Haley got the Clippers on the board first with a goal at 3:45 of the second period. Brendon Pelletier scored the equalizer for the Red Eddies at 12:20, with assists from Brendon Croteau and Branden Dyer.
Yarmouth outshot EL, 4-1, in overtime and 24-18 overall, but Zach Gosselin made 23 saves in net for the Red Eddies (1-2-1) to earn their first tie of the season. Nick Allen stopped 18 shots for the Clippers (0-2-2).
Boys’ basketball
Oak Hill 53, Lisbon 40
WALES — Luke Washburn controlled the paint with 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Oak Hill to a 53-40 victory over Lisbon in MVC boys’ basketball action.
Parker Asselin added 14 points and Trever Samson added 13 points for the Raiders (2-3). Tucker Brannon led the Greyhounds (1-4) with 10 points.
