TOGUS — Myron F. Wright, 88, of Jay, died early afternoon on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the VA Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Jay, a son of Carl and Lena (Merrill) Wright. He attended Jay schools before enlisting in the Army and serving during World War II in Japan.

Upon his return from the service, Myron worked as a young man in local shoe shops and tannery, before settling in as a local farmer.

He enjoyed the company of his beloved cat, Missy, and especially time with his great-nephews, Lucas and Benjamin.

Myron is survived by a sister, Dorothy Bryant and her husband, William, of Farmington; nieces and nephew, Beverly Coolidge and her husband, Nelson, of Dixfield, Ann Bryant of Farmington, Nikita Tracy and her husband, Brian, of Lewiston, Alice Mullens and her husband, Kevin, of Dryden and Everett Wright Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Jay; a brother-in-law, Colin Sampson of Florida; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by siblings, Everett Wright Sr. and Gladys Sampson.
