WINTHROP — Meghan Murphy, a 2011 graduate of St. Dominic Academy in Auburn, has released her debut album, “The Southern Side of Life.”

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter’s CD contains 12 original songs that revolve around leaving home and growing up. Her honest lyrics take listeners along for the ride as she navigates life, love and heartbreak on her way to finding herself.

Murphy plays guitar and ukulele on the album recorded and produced by Bob Colwell at the Root Cellar Recording Studio in Hallowell. She is accompanied by Roger Sampson on guitar, Justin Maxwell on bass, Dick Hollis on drums and Bob Colwell on keyboards, organ, mandolin and accordion. Backup vocals are provided by Colwell, Katie Daggett and Erik Glockler.

Murphy is a sophomore at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. The album is available through Bullmoose.com, cdbaby.com, iTunes, Amazon.com and Spotify and directly at www.meghanmurphymusic.com.
