STOW — Fire crews from area towns made quick work of a fire on Union Hill Road on Thursday in a town without a fire department.

No one was hurt in the 6:30 p.m. blaze at 367 Union Hill Road and damage was contained to one room, Fryeburg fire Chief Richard Sheaff said.

Stow is a small town in Oxford County on the Maine-New Hampshire border. Fires there are handled by departments in Fryeburg, Lovell and the Saco Valley Fire Association in North Fryeburg.

Sheaff said the latter group handled the fire investigation Thursday night. No further information was available.
