RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Irene M. Newell was celebrated on Wednesday at Parish of the Holy Savior. Fr. Robert Vaillancourt was the celebrant. Sharon Gates served as eucharistic minister. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Be Not Afraid,” “Ave Maria,” “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Fly Like a Bird.” The Old Testament was proclaimed by granddaughter, Rebecca Janjic. The New Testament was proclaimed by niece, Sharon Gates. Prayer of the faithful was offered by Sharon Gates. Offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters, Kelly Smith and Wendie Foreman. Pallbearers were Mike Foreman, Matt Foreman, Wayne McPhee, Aaron McPhee, Mike Smith and Aleks Janjic. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella was in the parish hall. Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
