The Beat Rust, a collective of musicians that organizes house shows and performances at various downtown locations, has announced the next in a series of concerts including Aiden Boardman and Dreamt at 7 p.m, Saturday, January 12, at Trinity Church, Lewiston. The evening will feature the group Dreamt, with singer-songwriter Aiden Boardman, a Maine native currently living in Ithaca, NY. The group, five pieces for this performance, creates beautiful folk-style mountain songs that tell vivid stories.

The Beat Rust has hosted a number of house shows in recent years, but the newest location for these performances is the sanctuary of Trinity Church. “There couldn’t be any more of a perfect place for sound and atmosphere than the intimate sanctuary of Trinity Church,” said Denise Dill, organizer.

Trinity Church, 247 Bates St., on the corner of Bates and Spruce, next to Kennedy Park – is a stone church with a red door and steeple. Trinity, in its commitment to the surrounding neighborhood, is making its facility available as a community center and concert venue. Twenty percent of the proceeds go to the support of Trinity and its various community programs which include the Jubilee Center, the Center for Wisdom’s Women, and Tree Street Youth.

Doors for this event open at 6:30 p.m. with light snacks available. The program starts at 7 p.m. There is a $10 suggested donation to support the artists and the use of Trinity’s facility.
