1930 – 2013

LEWISTON — Simonne A. Sirois, 82, formerly of 312 Pond Road, Lewiston, and a longtime resident of Ninth Street in Auburn, died Friday, Jan. 4, at the dYouville Pavilion in Lewiston, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Born in Lewiston, on June 7, 1930, she was the daughter of Adelard and Antonia Roy. Educated locally, she married Marcel G. Sirois, and they made their home in New Auburn. Marcel passed away on Nov. 26, 1972.

Prior to her retirement, Simonne worked in the local shoe industry for many years, mostly at Falcon Shoe. A member of New Auburn Senior Citizens, she enjoyed Bingo, bus trips with her friends, and was known for her knitting.

Survivors include a son, Fern, and wife, Susan Sirois of Lewiston; three brothers, Fernand Roy and wife, Louise, Alphee Roy and wife, Merime, and Real Roy, all of Lewiston; four sisters, Cecile and husband, Roger Roy, of Sabattus, Rejeanne and husband, Albert Sirois, of Lewiston, Yvonne Bisson of Lewiston and Antoinette Arel of Sabattus; and two granddaughters, Zoey and Alexis Sirois.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Roger, Rosaire, Larry and Maurice Roy; and a sister, Juliette Levasseur.
