PARIS — A man who pleaded in 2008 to sexually abusing two young girls had his probation partially revoked Tuesday in Oxford County Superior Court after admitting to violating his probation.
Timothy P. Belmont, 51, pleaded guilty in 2008 to five counts of gross sexual assault and five counts of unlawful sexual contact. He was sentenced to 18 months for the charges and is a lifetime registrant on the Maine Sex Offender Registry.
Belmont, who has been living in Rhode Island following his release, violated his probation last year by failing to report his location to his probation officer in February and March, according to Assistant District Attorney Richard Beauchesne. On March 22, he tested positive for marijuana and cocaine, another violation of his conditions.
He will serve 95 days of his previous sentence, with credit for time served.
