FARMINGTON — A celebration of life service for Arthur Ladd “Art” Perry was held Friday at the Old South Congregational Church, UCC, Farmington with the Rev. Alexis Fuller-Wright and the Rev. Alan Shumway co-officiating. Pianist was Patricia Hayden and soloist, the Rev. Shumway, singing “The Lord’s Prayer.” Soloist Darlene Mooar sang “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” repeated by the congregation. The opening song was a recording of “Rise Sons of Bowdoin.” Scripture reading was Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Words of remembrance were shared by lifelong friend, John Foster. Congregation hymn, “America The Beautiful” followed and Darren Perry offered personal words of reflection. The congregation hymn was “Simple Gifts” followed by Corinthians 13. His sons, JB and Flint Christie gave personal eulogies. Scripture readings were Philippians 4:4-7. Military honors were provided by Camp Keyes. Following services, the Old South Hospitality Committee hosted a comfort reception in the church vestry. Winter inurnment is at the funeral home. Spring burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center.
