PORTLAND — For 40 years, The Blues Prophets have been Maine’s premier Chicago-style blues band. The Prophets have had the honor to share the stage with Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, James Cotton, Otis Rush, and many other of Chicago’s greatest. In 1979, the band played at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. They will be joined at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11 by The Renovators, a rockin’ blues band from Portland, led by Bob Rasero with Jeff Davison and Kent Allyn. They have played throughout the Northeast. Tickets $15.

5G presents Fire and Ice, Saturday, Jan. 12. The 7 p.m. show is sold out. Tickets for 9 p.m. show $12. This show is an evening of animation, perspiration, and inspiration. Guest performers include Rosie Rimjob, Kings of the Hill, USM Royal Drag Competition’s crowned Betweenya Thighs, Little Boy Broadway, and MC Gay Jay.
