1957 – 2013

YORK — Laureene L. McQuade, 55, of 8 Avon Ave., passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 6, in her home.

She was born July 3, 1957, in Braintree, Mass., a daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Marion I. (Reynolds) Butterfield.

She graduated from the University of Maine and was a master gardener. She was a proud firefighter “fire 20” for Poland. She was also a bus driver and CDL truck driver.

She loved the ocean, sea glass, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She lived her life wild and free and was of spiritual nature. She was proud to know she was going to be a great-grandmother.

She was an active member of the Second Congregational Church which she loved.

She joins her husband, Frances E. McQuade, who died in 1977, and her mother and many others loved and lost into her next journey.

She leaves a son, Frank F. McQuade of Kittery; a daughter, Tanya D. McQuade of Turner; two grandchildren, Alyssa L. McQuade and Howard T. Washburn IV; five sisters, Candyce L. Macomber of Scarborough, Lynelle L. Butterfield of East Wareham, Mass., Kimberly D. Cedurland of Taunton, Mass., Charlene C. Wurtzburger of Wareham, Mass. and Melanie C. Chames of Taunton, Mass.; and a long-time companion, Warren C. Assmus of Weymouth, Mass.
