SOUTH PARIS — Percy Mellen Buck, 92, of Buckfield, died Monday, Jan. 14, at Market Square Health Care Center.

He was born in Buckfield, Dec. 8, 1920, the son of Charles A. and Hattie L. Churchill Buck. He graduated from Buckfield High School in 1939, and married Dorothy Ruth Hanson, Oct. 11, 1940.

He had been a dairy farmer all of his life, retiring in 1985. He was a seventh-degree member of the Mountain Grange 164 in Buckfield, also a member of New Century Pomona 20 as well as State and National Granges. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge 147 in Buckfield. He belonged to the Buckfield Community Church, where he served as deacon and on the RCAM Committee. He served on the board of trustees for soil conservation.

He is survived by three children, Judith Henshaw of Ellenton, Fla., Barbara Bennett and Joe Charles Buck, both of Buckfield; seven grandchildren, Greg, Patty, Richard, Sharon, Susan, Gary and Debbie; seven great-grandchildren, Shannon, Emily, Spencer, Kacey, Cameron, Jaxon and Maddie; one great-great-grandchild, Ethan; a sister, Elsie Knightly of Buckfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife in 2002; a daughter, Mary Moore; a brother, Dwight Buck; and a sister, Elva Fotter.
