DEAR SUN SPOTS: Pathways Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We are in dire need of a revamp to our program walls. We are in an all-concrete building and would like to find a talented “tagger” who would be willing to help us brighten up the place.

If you would like to have a free canvas to display your work and to help brighten up the days of many people, please call me for more information. This could be a really fun project, and we have room for more then one person’s talent. — Stephanie Bell, stephanieb@pathwaysmaine.com, 795-4085

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is it possible to obtain the original photo of the front page of Monday, Jan 7, edition? It is of Doug Jackson and grandchildren. I am a personal friend and would like to copy the print in oil for Doug’s birthday. — sandra.spier@gamil.com

ANSWER: The original shot by photographer Russ Dillingham was taken digitally and is no more than pixels on a computer. But you can get a print.

Most of the photos taken by Sun Journal photographers can be purchased. If you go to the website, sunjournal.com, below the photo you will see a link to “buy a print.” In this case, you can find the photo at http://tinyurl.com/aakjd47

You will need a credit card.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I enjoy reading your column every day. I noticed in the Your Health column at the bottom of the Advice page that a new doctor is answering readers’ question. I am wondering what happened to Dr. Paul Donohue? — C.G., Lewiston

ANSWER: Dr. Donohue is enjoying his well-deserved retirement after more than 30 years of answering medical questions. Dr. Roach has taken over the column, and it will continue to appear in the Sun Journal.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For No Name in Canton-Dixfield (Jan. 11) asking for contact information for a piano instructor, please let her know I am a professional local teacher. Thank you. — Jerol Ellis, Livermore Falls, 713-5525, 55atoz@myfairpoint.net

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would you or your readers know where I might be able to purchase a shoehorn? Years ago you got them when you purchased a pair of shoes, but that isn’t the case today. Thank you for any help you might be able to give me. — P.D., Mexico

ANSWER: Sun Spots mailed you a couple that she had coincidentally just tossed into her “for Goodwill” box, including one from a hotel (which also used to give them away free). They are nothing fancy, however. Medical supply stores sell special extra-long versions for people who aren’t supposed to bend over.  You might also look in the foot care section of your local drugstore or in a shoe store such as Lamey-Wellehan.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for Joanne Stormann Littlefield. I lost contact with her but saw her husband’s obit in your paper. Would it be possible for you to get a message to her? I knew her from sixth through 10th grade and stayed at her house summers in my 11th and 12th grades. I would be very grateful. My address is 2153 Reef Dr., St Augustine, FL 32080. — Annie Jane Palmer Murphy, palmura73@yahoo.com, 904-471-5831

ANSWER: Sun Spots often gets queries from people looking for other people. She cannot reveal anyone’s personal information, but if you are willing to have yours appear in the column, she can print that and let the person being sought choose whether or not to get in touch with you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am interested in obtaining photos, obituaries, stories and information on descendants of the Everetts, who lived Norway and Poland during the 1800s, for a genealogy book. — Ronald S. Everett, ronseverett@yahoo.com, 539-0921
