JAY — A memorial Mass will be held Friday, Feb. 1, to celebrate the life of Isabelle “Izzy” Newman, 5, who lost her battle with cancer Jan. 1 at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.
The Mass will be held at 6 p.m. St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church St., in Jay, followed by a luncheon and slide show at St. Rose Parish Hall across the street from the church. All are invited to join her family.
Her family is starting a foundation, Team Izzy’s Cancer Foundation, in her memory. Its purpose is to raise money for cancer research, The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center, the Ronald McDonald House of Portland, and to raise awareness of neuroblastoma, the type of cancer which Izzy’s battled.
Their first fundraiser will be to participate in Mary’s Walk & Kerryman Pub 5K on March 17 in Saco.
