RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Harriet G. Kowalzyk was celebrated Friday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Robert Vaillancourt was the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar server and Mark Belanger was the organist. Guest soloist was Maura Gwyer who sang “Hosea,” “Ave Maria” and the “Responsorial Psalm.” Music selections were “Be not Afraid,” “You are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art.” The Old Testament was presented by grandson, Andrew Mullen and the New Testament by grandson, Christopher Turgeon. Prayer of the faithful was offered by granddaughter, Laurie Simpson. Offertory gifts were presented by Kirk and Jennifer Turgeon and their children, Riley, Reece and Ronan. Personal reflections were shared by son-in-law, Donald Desroches. Personal reflections and a poem were shared by son-in-law, Richard Mullen. Bearers were grandchildren, Laurie Simpson, Peter Desroches, Christopher Turgeon, Kirk Turgeon, Andrew Mullen, Patrick Mullen, Thaddeus Mullen and Jeffery Giroux. Spring interment will be at St. John Cemetery. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella was in the parish hall. Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
