BUCKFIELD — Armand J. Buteau, 76, of 24 Gammon Road, Buckfield, died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

He was born in Lewiston, July 1, 1936, the son of Joseph and Yvonne Buteau. Educated in local schools, he was employed for many years by the Lewiston Gas Co., and at several local construction companies as a carpenter.

Armand enjoyed summers at Riverbend Campground, going out to eat, and taking day trips with family, especially to Old Orchard Beach. He was a social butterfly and had an infectious smile which will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Anita (Bouchard) Buteau of Buckfield; five children, Pauline Sawyer and husband, Peter, of Buckfield, Diane Parent and husband, Skip, of Hampden, Tina Foster and husband, Rob, of Sabattus, Dan Buteau and wife, Anne, of Shipman, Va., and Dale Buteau and wife, Crystal, of Wales; 12 grandchildren, Sheena Foster, Mellon Sawyer, Kyle Sawyer, Craig Sawyer, Kelsey Buteau, Liam Parent, Levi Buteau, Emily Parent, Danny Buteau, Tristan Parent, Zoe Buteau and Elizabeth Buteau; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Sawyer, Aliyah Sawyer and Bryanna Foster.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Lise Buteau; two older siblings, who died at a young age; and sisters, Roseanna Houle, Yvonne Morin and Theresa Lagueux.
