1924 – 2013

SACO — Elizabeth Walsh Savage, 88, of Grand Beach, died on Feb. 1, in Saco.  
Born May 8, 1924, in Lewiston, Bette was the daughter of Thomas F. and Louise Conley Walsh. She received her education in local schools, graduating from Deering High School before receiving her degree from Lasell College in Auburndale, Mass. Bette was a retired school teacher in the Glastonbury, Conn. school system.
Bette was a die-hard Red Sox fan and proudly wore her Irish heritage. She traveled the world, loved the beach, lobster, her family and children. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.  
She is survived by her husband, Francis J. Savage; two sons, Col. Raymond E. Schwartz, USMC-Ret., of Wilmington, N.C., and Michael F. Schwartz of Kailua, Hawaii; two stepsons; and seven grandchildren.
