Three story buildings will adorn Lisbon Street in the future if the ordinance introduced by Alderman Russell of Ward Seven is approved. The new ordinance was submitted at a special meeting of the Lewiston Board of Mayor and Aldermen yesterday. The Woolworth Company asked for a permit to erect a building on their new site, where they have already begun operations. The asked the usual concession of one third of the street and the order was tabled. Alderman Russell then introduced his ordinance, and while the mayor was opposed to it and Alderman Tarr did not believe it ought to be in force in the present case, the ordinance received a passage without difficulty. Before becoming a law it must be passed by the Common Council and approved by the Supreme Court.
