FARMINGTON — The Good Shepherd Food-Bank’s Food Mobile will distribute around 7,000 pounds of food to people in need in the Farmington area.

The mobile unit will come to the Care and Share Food Closet from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Fairbanks School, 508 Fairbanks Road.

The food includes fresh produce, an assortment of meats, essential nonperishable items and breads.

Anyone in need of emergency food assistance in Farmington and the surrounding area is welcome to attend.

The Good Shepherd Food-Bank’s food mobile program allows them to expand their outreach to Maine’s neediest and most underserved families. The mobile visits communities whose demand for emergency and supplemental food has outgrown the capacity of local food pantries.

The distribution was made possible through the generosity of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

In addition,  free coats, sweaters and warm winter clothing will be available in the meeting room upstairs.
