LEWISTON — Maggie Kelley has joined Maine Community Health Options as director of care management and quality.

MCHO is a not-for-profit organization that will provide affordable health insurance to Maine people and small businesses beginning in January 2014.

Kelley has worked extensively in occupational health leadership, consulting and direct care roles, and has a wide array of nursing experience in acute and ambulatory care settings. Before joining MCHO she worked for Cigna Onsite Health as an on-site health-care advocate at a large defense contractor.

Her earlier experience includes serving as director of employee health services at Maine Medical Center. She is past president of the New England Chapter of the Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare.

Kelley obtained her master’s degree in nursing from Simmons College, her bachelor’s in nursing from University of Southern Maine and her associate’s degree in nursing from Cape Cod Community College. She has dual certification as an adult nurse practitioner and an occupational health nurse-specialist.

She volunteers at Oasis Health Network in Brunswick, providing health care to uninsured, low-income residents of the southern midcoast area of Maine.

Kelley lives in Bath with her husband, son and chocolate Lab.
